Man of Steel's Goyer on Blade Reboot, Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Justice League 0

Joseph Gordon-Levitt as BatmanSpeaking to Crave Online about his new series DaVinci's Demons, Man of Steel and Blade screenwriter David S. Goyer suggested that it was pretty likely fans could expect a Blade reboot from Disney at some point, now that they have recaptured the rights to the character from Warner Brothers/New Line Cinema, who distributed the original Wesley Snipes vehicles.

While Goyer believes there's probably "too much water under the bridge" to make Snipes reprise the role, he said, "Now that Marvel/Disney have recaptured the rights, I’m sure it will be [remade]. They made too much money on that character to not reboot him at some point....Look, between merchandise and what not, that little character generated almost a billion dollars.”

The writer, who also worked on the Dark Knight Trilogy with director Christopher Nolan, is also rumored to be part of the (also-rumored) Justice League film expected to be announced for 2015. Asked whether The Dark Knight Rises standout Joseph Gordon-Levitt would appear in the film, he wouldn't speculate on those persistent rumors.

"“I can absolutely not answer that question,” Goyer said, adding, “Sorry.”

After a long-standing denial by anyone involved with the Nolan Batman films that there could be any sort of follow-up, recently some of those involved seem to have softened a bit, with Michael Caine saying he hopes to return as Alfred in the next Batman reboot and even Nolan himself stopping short of denying rumors Gordon-Levitt would cameo as Batman in Man of Steel.

Most observers speculate that even if the actor were to portray Batman in Man of Steel and Justice League, it's still likely that the Nolan films wouldn't "count" in the new continuity, and that Levitt would simply bring the goodwill the fans have for seeing him in the suit and translate that to playing a younger Bruce Wayne.
