During an appearance at South by Southwest earlier today, comic actor Jim Carrey seems to have denied that he's in discussions with Marvel for a role in Guardians of the Galaxy. Asked on the red carpet for The Incredible Burt Wonderstone whether fans might be hearing his voice in a Marvel Studios movie soon, the Kick-Ass 2 star didn't say no--but certainly conveyed the message. "Never heard of it. Never heard of it, honest to God," Carrey told Geekscape (video embedded below). There's a whole world [of rumors] out there that's created on its own," the actor said. "I'm not dead either." Back in late January, a report emerged that both Carrey and his fellow actor/comedian Adam Sandler were being considered for roles in the film, which most fans assumed would be voice acting roles for one of the movie's two major CGI characters, Groot and Rocket Raccoon. There's been no follow-up to the reports, and no response from either Marvel (who traditionally doesn't comment on rumors anyway) or any of the actors until today.
