Last night's season finales of AMC's The Walking Dead and Talking Dead drew millions of viewers, making them the highest-rated episodes ever for their respective series. "Two words: Grateful. Dead. It's a joy that we get to work with such tremendous talent to make The Walking Dead and Talking Dead come to life for audiences that continue to engage and grow," said Charlie Collier, AMC's president. "In just three seasons, The Walking Dead has become a pop-culture phenomenon, entertaining millions of passionate viewers and obliterating traditional lines between cable and broadcast television." In a week where HBO's Game of Thrones returned and many fans and media wondered what that might do for The Walking Dead's ratings, not only did both hours of AMC's dedicated zombie programming do great numbers, but Talking Dead, with its series-high 5.2 million total viewers, outdrew Game of Thrones. The Walking Dead cemented its role as the season's biggest show on TV, beating out The Big Bang Theory, The Voice and Modern Family, delivering 12.4 million viewers last night and over 8 million in the coveted 18-49 demographic.
