Black Sails Trailer: Pirates From the Creator of Jericho and Human Target

The Starz television network today released the first trailer for Black Sails, a forthcoming pirate series created by Jon Steinberg, who has been behind such cult hits as Jericho and Human Target. Of course, Jericho became a comic after the TV series ended, and Human Target was based on a comic book created by the late, great Carmine Infantino--so it's not as though Steinberg's is a name unfamiliar to our readers. Cable networks like Starz are getting more and more into genre fare these days (the other big series they've got lined up for this season is Da Vinci's Demons, developed by Man of Steel co-writer David S. Goyer), possibly following the massive success of AMC's The Walking Dead. Whatever the reason, it's a good time to be a fan of the kind of high-adventure, big special effects TV that comic fans tend to love--so check this one out below.
