Back in August of last year, it was reported that the movie rights to the Marvel Comics character Daredevil would likely revert back to Marvel Studios/Disney. FOX had previously owned the rights, but they missed the deadline to start production on a new Daredevil movie to maintain the rights. Director Joe Carnahan had pitched a Daredevil movie idea to FOX, but time ran out before a project could be solidified. Even though it was widely reported that FOX lost the rights, neither Marvel Studios nor Disney had ever confirmed that they got the rights to Daredevil back. In an interview with Newsarama, Marvel Studios President Of Production Kevin Feige finally clarified that Marvel Studios does indeed now have the movie rights to Daredevil. Feige reportedly did not provide any information as to when Marvel Studios might move forward with a new Daredevil movie. However, considering that Daredevil is one of Marvel's most well-known characters, we can't imagine Disney sitting on those rights for too long. In fact, we would be surprised if Daredevil wasn't already in the plans for Marvel Studios Phase Three.
