Cumberbatch's enigmatic villain has been at the center of most of the film's promotion, and has already been cited as a high point of the movie in a number of pre-release reviews--even without the specifics of his plan or his potential connection to Star Trek history having come out yet. Star Trek Into Darkness premiered earlier this week in Australia and hits the big screen on May 17 in the U.S.
