During our regular commentary column for Terry Moore's Rachel Rising, the veteran comics creator revealed that the series' upcoming seventeenth issue will feature something special for longtime readers of his work. "I have a surprise for any Strangers in Paradise fans out there in issue 17," Moore told ComicBook.com in an interview that will run tomorrow. While he didn't specify, it certainly seems likely that we'll see someone from the long-running, award-winning series make an appearance in the small town of Manson, where Rachel Rising take place. Last year at San Diego Comic Con International, Moore told fans that a character from Strangers in Paradise would pass through Manson. The only character we can reasonably assume that it isn't is David Qin, about whose suggested reappearance Moore told us, "Ooh, that's twisted. That never crossed my mind." It's been quite a year for Moore; Strangers in Paradise turns 20 later this year (the first issue of the series was cover dated for November 1993), and to celebrate that, not only is Moore incorporating elements from SiP into Rachel Rising, but has been working on a Strangers in Paradise prose novel. Rachel Rising, meanwhile, was picked up for TV development earlier this month. Rachel Rising #17 goes on sale June 26.
