Man of Steel Superman Saves Smallville

Some new Man Of Steel children's book are scheduled to arrive in stores next weeks, but it looks like a couple of them may have hit store shelves early. If you don't want to know the spoiler revealed in "Superman Saves Smallville," then stop reading now. "Superman Saves Smallville" tells the story of Kal-El's arrival on Earth and General Zod's attack on Smallville. The children's book also reveals a brand new villain, who had not previously been revealed. Joining General Zod and Faora in attacking Smallville is a third bald-headed villain. No, the villain is not Lex Luthor, but it is another Kryptonian

named Nam-Ek. This third Kryptonian villain attacking Smallville was not created just for the movie, as Nam-Ek has previously appeared in the comic books. In the comic books, the Randor was a protected beast on Krypton, whose horn had healing properties.  Nam-Ek cut the horn off a Randor (accidentally killing the creature in the process) in order to make a healing serum. While drinking the serum gave Nam-Ek healing abilities, it also made him turn purple and grow a horn just like the Randor. Nam-Ek was sentenced to the Phantom Zone for his crime. However, Nam-Ek just appears as a bald man in the "Superman Saves Smallville" book, so it's unlikely the turning purple and growing a horn part will be used from the comic book storyline. Nam-Ek also appeared in the Smallville TV series as one of the Disciples of Zod.
