Runaways Movie

A recent report from The Hollywood Reporter mentioned Runaways as one of Marvel Studios projects on the horizon. In a previous interview on Marvel.com, Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige had seemed to indicate that the Runaways movie had been shelved. Feige said, "We had developed a film with Drew Pearce and we didn't end up making that film. As we were starting to film Marvel's The Avengers and were finishing up post production on Marvel's Thor and Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger, I was in London and I asked to meet with Drew--who had just been told and was disappointed understandably that we weren't going to be moving forward with this movie that he'd written--but I asked him about Iron Man 3." Of course, Drew Pearce was the writer on Runaways, so it's pretty obvious that was the movie that Kevin Feige was referring to as not moving forward. However, by the same token, Feige must have been impressed with Pearce's writing style on Runaways to recruit him as a writer for Iron Man 3. And with the enormous success of Iron Man 3, could Marvel Studios be revisiting the Runaways script? There just might be some movement going on behind the scenes with Runaways, because writer Drew Pearce had a very interesting response when asked on Twitter what was going on with Runaways. Drew Pearce replied, "Nothing on Runaways right now but watch this space..."
