star Christopher Meloni appeared on HuffPost Live earlier today to talk about his role as Colonel Hardy in Man of Steel and, along the way, share a clip from the movie with the site's viewers. We brought you a few quotes from that interview, along with the unedited video of the episode, a little earlier but here's the scene from Man of Steel itself, taken out of the context of the show. Some fans online had speculated that the photos of Hardy with a knife suggested that at some point the U.S. military fashioned some kind of weapon that could be effective against Kryptonians. Quite the opposite, actually; he had the knife because, with a downed aircraft and no remaining bullets, that was his desperation play. When Faora quotes back to him that "A good death is its own reward" (apparently Kryptonians are aware of this expression), things seem bleak. And with only a second left in the clip, too...
