How I Met Your Mother, Bones Headed to Comic-Con

star Cobie Smulders, Buffy the Vampire Slayer castmember Alyson Hannigan, The Muppets star Jason Segel and Doctor Horrible himself, Neil Patrick Harris, ,will appear at Comic-Con next month...but not to promote any of those projects. Rather, CBS will bring How I Met Your Mother to the convention for the first time to promote the sitcom's forthcoming ninth and final season. With fans having finally glimpsed the titular mother in last month's season finale, the ninth season promises to be the story of the "longest wedding-weekend ever," tracking the movements of the cast as both designated couples have butterflies and conflicts, and Ted finally gets around to doing what the title says. The How I Met Your Mother event will take place on Saturday, July 20, as part of 20th Century Fox's lineup, which also includes Bones (with Hannigan's old castmate David Boreanaz scheduled to appear) and Sons of Anarchy (no word yet on Ron Perlman). Smulders will appear in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and is in talks to appear on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
