Fans and the press have been wondering just what was meant by the "Survivors" and "Hilltop" teaser images released earlier this weekend by Skybound, teasing a major The Walking Dead announcement was coming on Tuesday at Image Expo in California. Well, whatever it is also involves Ezekiel, his tiger and The Kingdom, according to the newest image, which you can see at right. The Kingdom is a community of survivors found in Washington D.C who are based at a high-school, with a wall of buses and sheets of metal. It's the second biggest settlement after the Hilltop Colony. Presently, a number of the survivors around whom the story is based have recruited the help of Ezekiel and The Kingdom against Negan. There's been some speculation that fans might get more than one series from The Walking Dead coming out of this announcement--that perhaps Kirkman would split duties between the survivors and Hilltop, with one book following Rick and his group and another following Maggie. Whether The Kingdom's inclusion in the teasers changes that opinion will be interesting to see... ...as will whether we might get another teaser image tomorrow, ahead of Tuesday's official announcement. Is there a fourth group to introduce into this little war? And if so--could we really be seeing four monthly series branded for The Walking Dead? The last time Kirkman went weekly it was with archival material--and certainly if he were to make spinoffs at this point, he would need to find artists to do it since obviously Charlie Adlard can't do eighty pages a month.
