When Man Of Steel first debuted in movie theaters, many critics were quick to point out how different it was from the 1978 Superman The Movie. While Man Of Steel did take a darker and more real world tone, there are some similarities between it and the 1978 Superman The Movie. Utilizing footage from Superman, Superman II, Superman II The Richard Donner Cut, Superman III, Superman IV: The Quest For Peace, and Superman Returns, You Tube user SilverLightSaber was able to put together a trailer for the 1978 Superman The Movie in the style of Man Of Steel. As his motivation for making the mashup, SilverLightSaber wrote, "I love the new Superman film so passionately and am sick of people bashing it and saying how it's not a true Superman film. This confusing clash between the critics and fans over this film seems unwarranted in my opinion and I believe the film speaks for itself. Due to my love for the original Superman films, I've created a new trailer for them synched to the style of the new Man of Steel film in an attempt to prove this tone works for the character despite what some may say."
