With DC's upcoming, villain-centric event story Forever Evil, it seems as though Batman has changed sides. Key word, of course, being seems. There are any number of reasons we could be seeing Batman teamed up with some of the DC Universe's most insidious baddies without the Dark Knight actually having to turn his back on his war on crime--but it's not yet clear whether this is a mind-control thing, an impersonator or something else entirely. Of course, Catwoman (who isn't really dead) is on this cover as well, suggesting that she might not last as part of the Justice League of America after all--but why would the Society trust her, after she just tried to infiltrate them a minute ago? Does her presence alongside Batman on the cover of Forever Evil #2 suggest that replacements (a la Marvel's post-Civil War Dark Avengers) is then a more likely explanation for these two characters than a mind-control scenario where it would be difficult to know whether they're really loyal or whether the Society is the victim of another ruse?
