Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.: What If Agent Coulson Is Still Dead?

There has been lots of speculation over how Agent Coulson returns from the dead in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. One popular explanation was that it was a Life Model Decoy that Loki stabbed through the heart in The Avengers, and the real Agent Coulson was safe and secure in another location. Another explanation is that Agent Coulson was severely injured, but not killed, and Nick Fury pretended he was dead to motivate The Avengers. Recently, a brand new theory has started to circulate on the Internet, which offers up an interesting possibility. What if Agent Coulson is still dead? The rumor basically takes the Life Model Decoy theory and flips it around. Loki actually did kill the real Agent Coulson, but the new Agent Coulson is actually the Life Model Decoy. One thing that is supporting this rumor is a vaguely worded spoiler from Entertainment Weekly.  According to EW, Agent Coulson's S.H.I.E.L.D. colleagues say he must "never know the truth" about his death. Why would the details of Agent Coulson's death have to be kept secret from him? The only explanation that springs to mind is that Agent Coulson is actually a Life Model Decoy who thinks that he's a real person. Maybe, Coulson's consciousness was somehow implanted in the Life Model Decoy after Coulson's body died. The Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to premiere on ABC in the fall.
