With The Walking Dead hitting Comic-Con in a major way and the first trailer for The Walking Dead Season 4 set to be released on Friday, Entertainment Weekly couldn't have had better timing with their latest cover selection. For this week's issue, EW is offering up three different Walking Dead collector covers, featuring Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, and Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes. If the covers along weren't enough reason to pick up the magazine, inside the issue will be a special sneak peek at Season 4 of The Walking Dead. Producer Greg Nicotero, who is directing The Walking Dead Season 4 premiere, adds some math to earlier claims that the walker threat would be taken to a new level in Season 4. Nicotero said, "The first episode, we had days where there were 150 walkers." Besides the walker threat, there have also been some hints that Rick Grimes and company will be facing a threat from mother nature. Showrunner Scott M. Gimple said, "The new threat is something you can't just stab in the face. You can't talk sense to it. You can't make a truce with it. It's beyond all that. It would be a threat in any world, but in this world it is much more terrifying." What could Gimple be hinting at? Given the location of the country where The Walking Dead is set, could it be tornadoes? The Walking Dead Season 4 is set to premiere on AMC in October.
