The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences have officially announced the 65th Primetime Emmy Award Nominations. We've compiled a list of some of the notable nominations for shows that we often cover at Comicbook.com. The big winners as far as nominations go appear to be the Game Of Thrones and American Horror Story: Asylum. Game Of Thrones scored sixteen nominations, while American Horror Story: Asylum scored seventeen nominations. Among the top categories, Game Of Thrones was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, Vera Farmiga of Bates Motel was nominated for Lead Actress in a Drama Series, The Big Bang Theory was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, Jason Bateman of Arrested Development was nominated for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Don Cheadle of House of Lies was nominated for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, and Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory was nominated for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. In other notable categories, American Horror Story: Asylum was nominated for Outstanding Miniseries Or Movie, Jessica Lange of American Horror Story: Asylum was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie, Peter Dinklage of Game Of Thrones was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, Emilia Clarke of Game Of Thrones was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, Diana Rigg of Game Of Thrones was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss of Game Of Thrones were nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, Mayim Bialik of The Big Bang Theory was nominated for  Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and Bob Newhart was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series for his appearance on The Big Bang Theory. While AMC's The Walking Dead was overlooked in the Outstanding Drama Series and the Lead Actor and Actress categories, the show did score a couple nominations in other categories. The Walking Dead Story Sync were nominated for Outstanding Interactive Program, and The Walking Dead was nominated for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup For A Series, Miniseries, Movie Or A Special. The 65th Primetime Emmy Award Emmy Awards will air live on CBS on September 22, 2013. Neil Patrick Harris returns as host of the show.
