Galaxy Quest Voted a Better Star Trek Movie Than Star Trek Into Darkness

By Grabthar's hammer! Star Trek fans have voted Star Trek Into Darkness as the worst Star Trek movie ever made. That's out of twelve possible choices--including eleven official Star Trek films and Galaxy Quest, a film from Red 2 director Dean Parisot which parodied the series and its fans. Badass Digest has the list, in which Into Darkness "beats out" stinkers like Star Trek: Nemesis, Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. The vote was taken last weekend at the annual Las Vegas Creation Star Trek Convention. What else beat it out? Galaxy Quest, not officially a Star Trek movie, which came in at #7--just behind Star Trek, J.J. Abrams's first film in the rebooted franchise. Of course, Star Trek Into Darkness will also be the biggest global box office hit in the franchises's history, and did pretty well with mainstream audiences and critics...so we might see a new #14 when the next installment hits...!
