Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that veteran actor Ian McDiarmid will reprise his role as Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars Episode VII. Of course, this particular rumor left many fans confused as Palpatine appeared to die in battle with Darth Vader at the end of Return of the Jedi. Some fans speculated that Palpatine might return as a clone. Now, Latino-Review is reporting their source has both confirmed the rumor, as well as providing an explanation on how Palpatine will return. According to their source, Palpatine will not be a clone, but rather he comes back as a Force Ghost, like Obi Wan did. Also, Palpatine reportedly had a new apprentice before he got killed. In discrediting the clone theory, Latino-Review points out that was done in the Dark Horse Comics, and Lucasfilm wouldn't want to repeat that. The site claims that nothing in the script is from any of the Star Wars books, which backs up earlier rumors that Star Wars Episode VII would be an original story. Of course, for their part, Disney has yet to confirm a single, solitary cast member for Star Wars Episode VII, despite rampant rumors that several members of the original cast are returning. Star Wars Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a story by Michael Arndt, and the film is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2015.
