Iron Man 3 Passes The Hunger Games On All Time Domestic Box Office List

It was starting to look like Iron Man 3, this year's highest grossing film, might never catch The Hunger Games, last year's third highest grossing film, on the all time domestic box office list. However, over the weekend, Iron Man 3 managed to do enough box office business to move ahead of The Hunger Games. Iron Man 3 has made $408,195,474 at the box office compared to The Hunger Games' $408,010,692. In passing The Hunger Games, Iron Man 3 moved from the fourteenth position to the thirteenth position on the all time domestic box office list. With Iron Man 3 now reaching its sixteenth week of release, it's doubtful that it will move any higher on the list, as Toy Story 3 sits in the number twelve position with around $7 million more. Iron Man 3 ranks as the fourth highest grossing comic book movie of all time at the domestic box office, trailing The Avengers, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises. On the Worldwide box office list, Iron Man 3 ranks even higher. Iron Man 3 is the fifth highest grossing movie of all time on the worldwide box office list with over $1.2 billion in ticket sales.
