Hugh Jackman as The Wolverine

While Hugh Jackman's contract to play Wolverine ended with X-Men: Days Of Future Past, it looks like the actors claw-wielding days might not be over. Due to the worldwide success of The Wolverine movie, Twentieth Century Fox is planning to move forward with a sequel according to Deadline. Fox has reportedly entered into negotiations to bring back not only Hugh Jackman as Wolverine but also James Mangold as the director of the sequel. Fox is said to be currently making a deal with Mangold to write the treatment and with Lauren Shuler Donner to produce. Of course, as is always the case with superhero movies, the exact storyline is being kept under tight wraps. With The Wolverine connecting to X-men: Days Of Future Past, it's likely important for Fox to be especially secretive to not give away the events of that film. While The Wolverine got off to a slower state than expected at the United States box office, it ultimately grossed $132 million in the U.S. and a total of $413 million worldwide. The Wolverine is the second highest grossing X-Men film of all time. The Wolverine is the eleventh highest grossing movie of 2013 so far worldwide.
