Family Guy: Real Veterinarians Claim They Can Save Cartoon Dog Brian Griffin

We wonder if Fox and Seth MacFarlane had any idea the uproar that killing off Brian Griffin on the Family Guy would create. The death of the Family Guy cartoon dog has resulted in online petitions, hoax websites, and now opportunistic press releases. In a press release, Doctors from BluePearl Veterinary Partners, a group of specialty and emergency hospitals for pets, have announced a way that their real life veterinarians can save the cartoon dog. "If the writers of the show could somehow help Stewie Griffin get his time machine up and working to the point where they could get Brian to one of our specialty and emergency hospitals, we would use everything at our disposal to try to bring back one of America's most beloved pooches," said Dr. Jennifer Welser, chief medical officer of BluePearl Veterinary Partners. Most BluePearl hospitals have CT-scanners, MRIs, ventilators, and other specialty equipment found in most human hospitals, all of which may be useful in saving Brian. "We're calling on Mr. MacFarlane, the writers and most importantly, Stewie, to do everything in their power to save Brian," said Dr. Mark Levy, a board-certified surgeon with BluePearl in New York. "Just get him to one of our hospitals and we'll provide whatever surgery or specialty needs may be necessary to try to save him." If New York is too far from Quahog, Rhode Island, where the Griffins live on Family Guy, BluePearl Veterinary Partners' newest hospital is located in the greater Boston area. "The bottom line is, our doctors are available for whatever specialty and emergency needs there are, 24-hours-a-day, at most of our locations," Welser said. "Whether it's America's most beloved cartoon dog, or your pet at home, if there is an emergency or specialty issue, we're here to help." Of course, there are two major problems with BluePearl's plan. One is that it requires Stewie to get his time machine operational again. If Stewie could get his time machine fixed, then he could just go back in time to before the accident and prevent it, so there wouldn't be any need to take him to a veterinary hospital. Two and most importantly, Brian Griffin is a cartoon dog, so you know, he doesn't actually exist in the real world. Still, congrats to BluePearl for figuring out a way to use a cartoon tragedy to cleverly market their business.
