Mystery Men, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back Among Netflix Losses in January

Bob Burden's indie comics adaptation Mystery Men is one of dozens of movies and TV series whose licenses on Netflix will expire on January 1 and apparently will not be renewed, according to Death and Taxes. Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob Stike Back is also on the list, as is Seed of Chucky, Transformers: The Dark of the Moon and many more. You can see a full list below. Netflix periodically loses large numbers of titles from its library as a result of lapsed licenses that either Netflix or the licensor choose not to renew. In some cases, it has to do with Netflix's reputation in the industry as trying to use its huge subscriber base to strongarm content providers into lower pricing. The company recently took a hit when they lost a lot of Viacom product, including a number of popular Nickelodeon kids' shows.
