Five Possible DC Comics Movie Roles For Dwayne Johnson

On New Year's Eve, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson shocked fans by revealing that he was currently in talks with Warner Bros. about a DC Comics project. Johnson had previously been tied to both a Shazam and a Lobo movie, but it's not for sure if he was referring to one of those projects or a completely new project. Here are five DC Comics characters that Dwayne Johnson could be negotiating to play. 5. Black Adam – Of all the DC Comics characters that Dwayne Johnson could play, there is no better fit than Black Adam. Johnson as Black Adam would be the most perfect casting in a comic book movie role ever. However, recent reports have indicated that Shazam has been postponed indefinitely, because of the success of the Man of Steel. Apparently, Warner Bros. considers the character to be to similar to Superman, so they don't want to go the Shazam route with the Superman franchise taking off. 4. Lobo – While Lobo might seem like the most likely role given Johnsons' past tie to the character and his comment about creating "cool bad assery," the Lobo project is also believed to be as dead in the water as Shazam. With so many major characters like Wonder Woman and Flash not having their own movies yet, a relatively unknown character like Lobo would seem like an unusual choice for Warner Bros. at this point. 3. Doomsday – If we had to guess, then we bet Doomsday could be the role. There have been a lot of hints that Doomsday will be part of the Batman Vs. Superman movie. Johnson is one of the few actors who has the build to play Doomsday. Also, Johnson did specifically reference 2014, and Batman Vs. Superman is the only DC Comics film that Warner Bros. has announced as filming in 2014. 2. Martian Manhunter – Another possibility could be that Johnson is in the running to play another character in Batman Vs. Superman. Because of his bald head and muscular build, another character that springs to mind is Martian Manhunter. Johnson also has the cool, calm tone that would fit the Martian Manhunter personality. 1. Amazo – If we had to pick the DC Comics character that Johnson looks the most like after Black Adam, then it would be Amazo. Johnson fits the physique of the hulking android perfectly. The only problem is that Amazo isn't one of the villain names that have been rumored for Batman Vs. Superman. Of course, the DC project that Johnson is in talks about could be a little further down the line. Amazo could be one of a group of villains in a Justice League movie.
