Constantine Coming to Smallville

While NBC may be developing a Constantine TV series for later this year or next, the character will join Smallville's universe in April, TV Guide reports. And he'll be British, just like in the comic book source material, rather than the big-screen version played by Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure star Keanu Reeves. "[Zatanna has] taken her show on the road, using her tour as a cover to run down and deal with all the messes/enchanted/cursed everythings her father left behind when he died," said Bryan Q. Miller, who writes the digital-first comic book series for DC Entertainment. "By the time we catch up with her in 'Harbinger,' she's closing in on the final item on that list." TV Guide says that Constantine has a long, complicated history with Zatanna. "He and Zee butt heads over how to deal with her father's final cursed object," Miller said. "It was stolen from Constantine and he wants it back... so he can sell it to the highest bidder."
