To close out the 40th Annual People's Choice Awards, The Big Bang Theory won the award for Favorite Network TV Comedy. Other nominees in the category included  2 Broke Girls, Glee, How I Met Your Mother, and Modern Family. The cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory appeared on stage to accept the award. In speaking for the cast and crew, Kunal Nayyar said, "I want to start by thanking the writers on our show for Chuck Lorre and Steve and Bill for every day putting out quality. They make our jobs so much easier. Thank you, thank you, thank you." Nayyar continued, "I want to thank Mark Cendrowski, a director who puts up with us every single day. Thank you for that. Anthony Rich and the entire crew for steadying the ship and keeping it sailing. And I want to thank this incredible, incredible cast who I get to work with every single day of the week. Warner Bros. and CBS for your continued support." Nayyar added, "And finally the fans. Because you guys have no idea how much you mean to me. I don't think you could ever imagine how much you mean to me. Without you, there would be no us. We love you so much. And to Simon Helberg who's not here today, we love you and we miss you and you're here with us in spirit." Earlier in the night, Kaley Cuoco won an individual award for Favorite Comedic TV Actress for The Big Bang Theory.
