Cosmos A Space-Time Odyssey

Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey will premiere on Fox on March 9, 2014 at 9:00 p.m EST. An encore presentation will air on March 10  at 10:00 p.m. EST on the National Geographic channel, featuring behind-the-scenes footage and additional bonus footage not seen in the original Fox broadcast. Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is a 13-part series from executive producer/writer Ann Druyan and executive producer Seth McFarlane, creator of Family Guy. The series is meant to be a successor to Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, Carl Sagan's iconic exploration of the universe through science, that originally aired over 30 years ago. Druyan and co-writer/astronomer Steven Soter were creative collaborators with Sagan on the original Cosmos series. The show will be hosted by renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. Like the original series, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey will tell the story of how we discovered the laws of nature and found our place in time and space, shining the spotlight on heroic tales of mankind's quest for knowledge. The series will utilize new modes of scientific storytelling in order to better show the audience the grandeur of the universe and plans to reinvent certain elements of the original series, including the Cosmic Calendar and the Ship of Imagination.
