For the last two weeks, there's been one consistent topic of conversation as it pertained to the Super Bowl: the weather. It's been miserably cold in much of the country, and today's Super Bowl XLVIII between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks is going to be played in an outdoor stadium in the inhospitable Northeastern United States. There were fears that there would be a major snow event, or sub-zero temperatures...and we pre-wrote an article speculating which supervillain might take the blame for screwing up the weather, like Bane got blamed for last year's Super Bowl blackout. Then, of course, over the last few days it turned out that the weather will be just fine. Well, this is great news for the players, but probably a pain in the neck for bookies who took prop bets based on the weather, as well as for those hoping for a "snow Bowl." So we can't decide whether turning away the frigid weather front so the game can go on unmolested would be the act of a superhero or a supervillain. So, we just mixed and matched. Who could have turned back the Polar Vortex? Read on...

The Flash villain could have done it just to mess with the gamblers--but more likely it would be that he's a little annoyed that the longtime Rogue Captain Cold has decided to join the Justice League all of a sudden following the events of Forever Evil. Nothing like being betrayed by an old friend to get somebody all worked up and convince them to do something dramatic and crazy...

Storm In X-Men Days Of Future PastStorm

One assumes that her motivations would be somewhat more pure, but Storm--one of the most powerful members of the X-Men--has significant weather-manipulation powers. Who's to say she didn't get a call from somebody asking her for a favor? It would be a nice promotional tie-in with X-Men: Days of Future Past, which is expected to have an ad run during the Big Game tonight.

Okay, so she doesn't have a movie coming out, but if Marvel's version of Storm can be a suspect on the list, so can DC's version!

Thor The Dark World After The Credits DescriptionThor

As the God of Thunder, he does have a little pull with what the clouds do, and when. It probably wasn't him, though; I hear he always roots for the Vikings (just like longtime Thor writer Dan Jurgens).

...Well? It's right in his name, isn't it?
