The Flash Pilot Recruits Candice Patton as Iris West

The CW has cast The Game's Candice Patton as Iris West in the forthcoming small-screen adaptation of DC Comics's The Flash, Deadline reports. Patton will star opposite Glee's Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, a role he launched on Arrow earlier this year, and Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, Iris's father and the man who takes in Barry after the murder of his mother and the arrest of his father for the crime. Both making Barry and Iris roommates/surrogate siblings and changing the race of the West family have some comic book purists scratching their heads. Patton joins the recently cast Rick Cosnett and Danielle Panabaker, who will play potential villains for the series.
