Robert Luketic Directing The ExpendaBelles

is reporting that Robert Luketic will direct Millennium Films' The ExpendaBelles, essentially a version of The Expendables (also a Millennium Films property) with a cast of female characters instead of males. The film will team Luketic with writers Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah, who all worked together previously on Legally Blonde. In The ExpendaBelles, the world's deadliest female operatives must join forces and pose as high-class call-girls to infiltrate the island nation of a mad despot and rescue a nuclear scientist being held hostage. Yes, really. The film will be produced by Sylvester Stallone and Kevin King. The studio is supposedly in talks with Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz and Milla Jovovich to star, but nothing is solid and a shortlist is still being finalized.
