Last night, Jimmy Fallon recorded his last Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show ever. While Fallon is leaving the Late Night show, he's not leaving late night television. Fallon is taking over the Tonight Show from Jay Leno, who did his farewell episode on Thursday night. As part of his opening monologue, Fallon quipped, "Tonight is the 969th and final episode of Late Night. Or as my dad put it, 'Couldn't make it to a thousand? Huh? Quitter!'" Andy Samberg appeared as a guest on the show, and several celebrities sent taped messages of advice for Fallon on hosting the Tonight Show. At the end of his final episode. Fallon performed the song "The Weight" by the Band with The Muppets. The Muppets have a new movie called Muppets Most Wanted, which is scheduled to be released on March 21, 2014. At the end of the song, Fallon walked down the hall to the Tonight Show studios. Fallon is scheduled to make his debut as Tonight Show host on February 17, 2014.
