The Bunker

writer Joshua Hale Fialkov announced today to the comic's e-mail subscription list that the first issue of the print edition has sold out at Diamond Comics Distributors and will be heading back for a second printing. "I'd just come off a truly traumatic couple of years working for DC Comics, and I was determined to prove to myself that I could tell a story, on my own, that I cared about," Fialkov told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this week. "A lot of the initial planning was going on before this current renaissance in creator-owned comics we've seen the past six months, so it seemed like doing floppies would be a net loss for us. But times have changed." Readers can inform their retailer that the 2nd printing as well as The Bunker #2 are available using the following codes: The Bunker #1 – Second Printing: JAN148063 The Bunker #2 – JAN141259 The second printing of The Bunker #1 will hit stands on March 12th, and then #2 hits on March 26th, both in print and on ComiXology. The series launched as a digital-only series from Fialkov and artist/co-creator Joe Infurnari, the critically-acclaimed series was quickly picked up by Oni Press for physical distribution. It's widely rumored (fueled by comments Fialkov made in a previous e-mail) that the series could be headed for Hollywood in one form or another. The Bunker revolves around a group of friends who find a Lost-style buried chamber, in which they discover startling evidence that one or more of them have traveled back from the future with key information about their lives and impact on the world.
