Big Barda

There have been a lot of rumors flying around about who might show up in the sequel the Man of Steel, which is still under the working title Batman vs. Superman. We know we're getting Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor, while Nightwing, Doomsday, Martian ManhunterAquaman, and John Stewart have all been rumored to show up in the film at one time or another. While those characters are great, we think there are a few others who should be considered for a place in the film, or at least get a rumor or two of their own. Here's our thoughts. What do you think? Big Barda - The Justice League has some unfortunate gender balance issues, with the men usually outnumbering the women 6 to 1. Big Barda can help fix that. Not only does she rival Superman and Wonder Woman in terms of pure power, but her origins in the Fourth World can make her the Justice League movie's equivalent of Thor and potentially lead into a conflict with Darkseid, who would seem the natural choice for a villain in any Justice League movie.

The DC Comics movies have been accused of being too dark, so why not add a bit of comic relief? Plastic Man certainly fits the bill, and as an ex-con he could bring an interesting and different point-of-view to a team bristling with righteousness. Eel O'Brien would be a welcome addition to DC's movie team.

Black LightningBlack Lightning -

The Justice League has an even bigger imbalance in the race department than it does in the gender department. Black Lightning can help fix that (though I do recommend maybe just calling him Lightning). Not to mention he's the kind of power set that's likely to look spectacular on screen, with a big budget Hollywood effects team behinds it.

OracleOracle -

The Justice League doesn't have an organization like S.H.I.E.L.D. to help organize them. Oracle and can fill that role for them, and give Ben Affleck's Batman a sense of history if they keep her backstory intact. If Nightwing ends up in the film, the movie can even explore than fan favorite relationship. She'd also be a character that can provide a different sense of empowerment than we're used to seeing from a superhero film.

HawkmanHawkman -

Because who doesn't want to see a shirtless guy flying around swinging a mace? Hawkman is great alien warrior character, similar to Thor, and can open up storylines like the Rann-Thanagar war for future films. It might be nice to have someone who is full on soldier to make Man of Steel's Superman seem less mean.
