Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who Top Most Popular Science Fiction Series

A new survey of British science fans revealed that Star Wars remains the most beloved science fiction/fantasy series, with Star Trek and Doctor Who not far behind. Star Wars gained over 50% of the vote--but the structure of the poll, done for Ladbrokes Games, asked fans to name their top three, so the total percentages obviously come to well over 100%. The survey was sent to 2000 UK respondents, and also asked their opinions on the characters within the series themselves. 36.3% of people said that they would like Dr Who as their best friend, while 20.4% said they thought of Princess Leia as marriage material andd 27.1% said that the most overrated fantasy/sci-fi film of all time was Avatar (The Matrix franchise was a close second).
