Earlier today, IDW Publishing announced that a number of classic Cartoon Network properties will cross over in this summer's Louise Simonson-penned Super Secret Crisis War--and now the cable network is getting even more comics love at the ComicsPro Retailer Summit in Atlanta, where they and BOOM! Studios announced a new partnership. Comic Book Resources reports that BOOM! have entered into a first-look agreement with Cartoon Network, giving the publisher the right of first refusal over comic book adaptations of the network's new series. Currently Adventure Time and Regular Show comics are a staple of BOOM!'s lineup, which is ironic since the publisher has been trying to focus less on licensed properties and more on original material over the last couple of years. Comics based on Cartoon Network's The Amazing World of Gumball and Uncle Grandpa comic books are both in the works. They also confirmed news of  a Big Trouble in Little China series from writer Eric Powell, creator of The Goon. Art will be provided by Brian Churilla with John Carpenter, who directed the 1986 film on which the series is based, on board as a Chris Carter-on-X-Files-style "active consultant."
