Amazing Spider-Man 2 Featurette Praises Andrew Garfield As Spider-Man

It's been an interesting week for Andrew Garfield. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star was announced as a presenter for the Oscars, but when he didn't show, all sorts of rumors starting hitting the Internet. Some early reports portrayed Garfield as a villain who bailed on inducting cancer survivor Batkid into the fraternity of superheroes. However, when the true story came out, it turns out it was the Oscar producers who pulled Batkid's segment, and Garfield himself was actually a true hero spending the day at Disneyland with Batkid (and reportedly inviting him to the Amazing Spider-Man 2 premiere). Given all the conflicting reports that surfaced around Andrew Garfield's no show at the Oscars, the timing probably couldn't be better on Sony Pictures latest featurette, which focuses on what the Spider-Man role means to Garfield and features others praising his performance. "When I first found out that they wanted me to be Spider-Man, it was overwhelming. It's everything that I ever dreamed of as a kid," says Garfield. "Andrew Garfield is sensational," says Stan Lee. "He's perfect." The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released in movie theaters on May 2, 2014.
