A series of set photos coming out of Aosta, Italy, show Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver and Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye engaged in a high-stakes action scene (seemingly against Ultron himself) in the upcoming Marvel Studios release Avengers: Age of Ultron. With bleached-out hair and a costume not too far removed from what we might see in an X-Men movie, Quicksilver looks basically like he did in concept art released during the Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe special that aired on ABC last week. Scarlet Witch, too, looks more or less as she did in the concept art, although with a bit less of the ragged, '90s look that made the concept art look reminiscent of DC Comics's Bloodlines-spawned teen heroine Anima. Lacking specific other context, the photos appear to show Wanda Maximoff trying to do some kind of spell while her brother Pietro and fellow Avenger Hawkeye take out potential threats that she can't keep her eyes on. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are an unusual case in that their film rights are jointly held by Fox, who have the X-Men franchise, and Marvel Studios, who do The Avengers. Quicksilver will appear -- ironically played by Taylor-Johnson's Kick-Ass  co-star Evan Peters -- in X-Men: Days of Future Past, which will come out this May and thus beat Age of Ultron to the box office by nearly a full year. The Marvel Studios version of the duo, though, it rumored to be making a cameo appearance in April's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Scarlet Witch will not appear in Days of Future Past. In the Marvel Studios movies, the duo are not allowed to use the word "mutant" or acknowledge their shared parentage (their dad is Magneto). In the X-Men films, they cannot acknowledge their connection to The Avengers.
