Green Lantern Movie

David S. Goyer - the writer/director who co-wrote The Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel, and is currently writing Batman vs. Superman – would like to take a crack at another DC Comics character: Green Lantern. In an interview with Collider, the Krypton scenes at the beginning of Man of Steel was said to be what Green Lantern "should have been." Goyer said he was trying to emphasize the sci-fi element and would be interested in doing Green Lantern if the opportunity arose. "I would love to do Green Lantern," said Goyer. "I really wanted to showcase Krypton as a truly alien world…at its heart, Superman has always been a science fiction story, and I wanted to lean into that." That's not much, but it's interest at least. The first Green Lantern was a critical and financial flop for Warner Bros., so it will probably be a while before they risk another attempt. Maybe, if a Green Lantern character is introduced in the growing Man of Steel film universe and was received well by audiences, they'd be more willing to invest in the property. Batman vs. Superman, the next step in that growing film universe, is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.
