If a short video posted to his WhoSay account is anything to go by, it seems Arrow Season One big bad Malcolm Merlyn, played on the hit CW superhero drama by Torchwood's John Barrowman, will return in one of the final two episodes of the season. The seven-second clip, seen below, shows Barrowman hanging out with Willa Holland, who plays Thea Queen in the series. Thea recently discovered that Merlyn is her illegitimate father, although to the best of her (and almost everyone else's) knowledge, he died at the end of Season One. Of the principal cast, only Moira Queen knows Merlyn is alive, and when he threatened to try to take custody of their daughter, she contacted Ra's al Ghul and the League of Assassins to report Merlyn's whereabouts, causing him to flee. He was last seen in "The Scientist," the episode that introduced Barry Allen, who will become The Flash in his own spinoff later this year. Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim told reporters at the time "Heir to the Demon" was airing that the episode was not the only time this season fans would see Nyssa Raatko, which lends itself to the question of whether the finale arc could see the League of Assassins playing a larger role, with both Barrowman and Katrina Law, who played Nyssa, appearing again. All season long, of course, fans have been wondering whether the other shoe might drop and we might get Ra's al Ghul himself. The Suicide Squad is also expected to recur in the finale, after Guggenheim told reporters that audiences haven't seen the last of the villain/antihero team and actor David Ramsey, who plays John Diggle, said the group and the episode in which they were introduced will play a big role in the finale.
