X-Men: Days of Future Past - Quicksilver

Twentieth Century Fox has released a new image from X-Men: Days of Future Past (via Entertainment Weekly). The image shows Quicksilver (Evan Peters) in action, using his super speed to run along the side of a wall. In the shot, Quicksilver is helping Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) break Magneto (Michael Fassbender) out of prison. Writer Simon Kinberg explained that this is Quicksilver's primary role in the movie. "That is the bulk of Quicksilver's presence in this film," Kinberg says. "They need somebody who can help them get in and out of somewhere. And the idea is that Logan knew him in the future and so they go to try to find his younger self." Kinberg also revealed that Quicksilver's parentage is not something that will be fully revealed in X-Men: Days of Future Past, saying "Quicksilver is Magneto's son in the comics and there may be an allusion to it in the movie, but it's not something we fully explore yet." In X-Men: Days of Future Past, the X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants. X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters May 23.
