Amazing Spider-Man #1.1 Preview: Learn To Crawl

Marvel Comics has released a preview of Amazing Spider-Man #1.1, from writer Dan Slott (Superior Spider-Man, Silver Surfer) and Eisner Award-winning artist Ramón Pérez (Wolverine and the X-Men, Tale of Sand). Following Peter Parker's return in Amazing Spider-Man #1, the five-issue series beginning in Amazing Spider-Man #1.1 goes all the way back to the night Peter lost Uncle Ben to tell a new tale from Spider-Man's earliest days and show that there is more to the story of how Peter Parker became Spider-Man. "We all love a good 'Year One' story," says Senior Editor Nick Lowe. "But this is so much MORE! Not only does this address Spider-Man's past, but it sets up a new villain that will be a huge part of Dan Slott's Amazing Spider-Man plans moving forward." Learning to Crawl takes place entirely within the first 60 days of Peter Parker's new life as Spider-Man. Set parallel to Spider-Man's first appearance in1962's Amazing Fantasy #15 and the events of 1963's Amazing Spider-Man #1-3, Learning to Crawl will show how Spider-Man went from a teenager who just learned the meaning of responsibility to being the iconic superhero fans have loved for decades. "It's one thing to know that with great power comes great responsibility, but what do you do with it?" says series writer Dan Slott, in an interview with Marvel.com. Fans can get their first taste of Learning to Crawl in an 8-page lead-in story included in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #1, shipping this month.
