Bryan Singer X-Men

Oscar-nominated director Amy Berg has spent the last two years working on a new documentary about sex abuse in Hollywood that includes allegations about Bryan Singer, The Daily Mail reports. Michael Egan, who filed a lawsuit this week alleging he was raped by Singer and others as a teenager, has been cooperating with Berg on her documentary. Whether or not Egan appears on camera in the film isn't yet known. Berg, who runs Disarming Films, was nominated for an Academy Award for her 2006 documentary Deliver Us From Evil, exploring sex abuse allegations in the Catholic Church. She's currently working on a scripted feature film as well which will screen at the Tribeca Film Festival. Variety has a number of graphic details on Egan's allegations, including the revelation that the plaintiff alleges law enforcement was contacted back in 1999 and 2000 and that the investigation seemingly went nowhere. Law enforcement agencies including the FBI were quoted as saying that they were looking into those charges, but that there was little chance they would be able to comment further since the allegations involved a minor. "The claims made against Bryan Singer are completely without merit," Singer's attorney Marty Singer (no relation) said. "We are very confident that Bryan will be vindicated in this absurd and defamatory lawsuit. It is obvious that this case was filed in an attempt to get publicity at the time when Bryan's new movie is about to open in a few weeks." X-Men: Days of Future Past opens in five weeks; expect that time (and the film's press junket) to be full of new revelations, accusations and details about what's going on here.
