Assassin's Creed

Michael Fassbender, who plays Magneto in X-Men: Days of Future Past (well, one of the Magnetos, anyway), will re-team with Justin Kurzel, who recently directed the actor in Macbeth, for the upcoming Assassin's Creed film adaptation. Deadline reports that while there's no deal in place yet, the studio is eager to get the video game adaptation moving, and Fassbender quite liked what he saw in Kurzel so an agreement will likely be announced soon. They may be keen to get the movie into production before Fassbender starts X-Men: Apocalypse, assuming (as most everyone does) that Magneto will appear in that movie. Magneto has also been rumored to have a solo movie in the works, which would star Fassbender -- and he's expected to appear in the upcoming Prometheus sequel, although that film is not likely to be coming as soon as these others. Macbeth will be distributed domestically by the Weinstein Company and stars Fassbender alongside The Dark Knight Rises villain Marion Cotillard.
