It looks as though Batman vs. Superman is being titled to suit its status as a lead-in to Justice League. The official title for the film is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, according to a website that just went live in support of the film. Production on the film has just begun in earnest in Detroit. A number of potential titles had been floated for the Zack Snyder-directed sequel to last year's Man of Steel, which is expected to hit theaters in 2016. ComicBook.com was the first to report, shortly after the film was announced at San Diego Comic Con International last year, that the likely title was Batman vs. Superman, which will likely remain the film's shorthand title as the full version is a bit wordy for casual conversation. Ben Affleck will star as Batman, an older and more world-weary version of the Caped Crusader than we've seen on film so far and somewhat inspired by Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. Henry Cavill will return as Superman, while Gal Gadot will debut as Wonder Woman. Snyder, who also directed Man of Steel, will follow up Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with Justice League.
