Star Wars Episode VII Rumor: Simon Pegg Has Secret Role

Following the end of filming in Abu Dhabi for Star Wars Episode VII, there is a rumor that Simon Pegg has a secret role in the film.

IGN is reporting that Pegg was on set Abu Dhabi during filming. If this is true, it contradicts Pegg's previously stated feelings about appearing in Star Wars:

"I don't think it would be appropriate for me to be in it, to be honest. I think J.J. should cast new faces with no stunt casting."

Pegg played Montgomery Scott in Abrams's two Star Trek films. He is a popular actor in the geek scene for being part of Edgar Wright's "Cornetto Trilogy," and for portraying a comic book artist in the British sitcom, Spaced.

Star Wars Episode VII comes to theaters December 18, 2015.
