In a new DC All Access video, DC Comics Co-Publisher Dan DiDio has spoken at some length about the new creative team on Superman and the newly-announced creative change on Wonder Woman, explaining what they hope to achieve in those titles and the DC Universe at large with the moves.

You can see the full video below, but below that we've transcribed about the first half, including the meat of his remarks.

"I always tell the same story about Superman: we can have everything working extraordinarily well in our entire line but if the Superman book's not working, for some reason people feel like the DC Universe is off-kilter," DiDio said. "When people are excited about a Superman book, the rest of the line seems to elevate with it. I mean, listen: Batman is our best seller, no argument there, and we have an incredible team on board with Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, who have been doing a great job since it launched in the New 52. And we've been wanting to get Superman going and excited; we've had some great creators on board, we've had some starts and stops along the way, but the reality is, with the launch now that we have taking place with Geoff Johns and John Romita, Jr. --"

DiDio allowed himself to be distracted by this.

"Now, with John Romita, Jr., I've been trying to get John here since I joined DC over twelve years ago," DiDio laughed. "So the fact that he's on board and doing Superman with Geoff Johns and the fact that we got Klaus Janson to work with him is just spectacular. When you see it, you see a level of energy, a level of excitement and more importantly, you see a lot of the iconic nature of what Superman is. I think people who love Superman will gravitate toward the book and I think people who just know Superman will want to see it as well."

He added, "When you do those two, it only makes sense you want to go for Wonder Woman as well. And again, we've got a tough act to follow. We've got Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang going and it's one of those situations where you've got a lot of people going, 'How are you going to be able to follow Brian and Cliff?' It's interesting becuase you have Superman and Wonder Woman -- they're extraordinarily iconic. They're more about what they stand for than characters. Those are very hard stories to tell in a comic book of a periodic nature and people are afraid to get them dirty but the reality is that what makes these characters exciting is the fact that they're able to handle these problems and still rise above and still be strong. That's what's important, and what we'll try to accomplish."

With a literal dream team of artists at their helms, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the Justice League are looking great. In this exclusive DC All Access bonus clip, DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Dan DiDio discusses the current status of DC's most popular heroes and what that means for the entire New 52.
