Image Expo To Kick-Off San Diego Comic Con

For the first time, Image Expo will be taking place on location in San Diego preceding San Diego Comic Con International. Retailers and press are invited to attend the event at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23 at the Hilton Bayfront. A limited number of complimentary tickets will also be available to SDCC attendees. Details are still to come.

Image Comics is promising surprise guest creators and plenty of announcements to come at Image Expo.

"In the spirit of trying new things, we're pleased to be partnering with CCI to bring Image Expo to San Diego this July," said Eric Stephenson, Publisher at Image Comics. "We want to get our message out to as many members of the comics community—and connect with Image fans outside of our San Francisco Bay Area home—and felt that taking Expo on the road would be a fun way to do that." 

Following the Image Expo, the Image booth at Comic-Con will be have exclusive releases and creator signings during Preview Night, and more announcements will be made over the course of the convention weekend during Image Comics panels.

This will be the third annual Image Expo, and the first to leave Yerba Buena Center in Sam Francisco.
