Last year, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. took Comic Con by storm when they announced, unexpectedly and at the tail end of their big Hall H panel, that Batman and Superman would appear in a live-action feature film together.

This year, many fans are expecting the movie to have a significant presence at the convention, and rumor has it there might be some early footage to screen, as well.

If that's the case, though, it'll be another surprise. Warner Bros. doesn't have a presentation for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice on their schedule for the pop culture convention launching two weeks from tomorrow.

With a mountain of TV to present including ConstantineGothamThe Flash and iZombie, Warner Bros. is facing steep expectations for their movie side; a report from longtime entertainment journalist Nikki Finke claims they'll announce a half-dozen new projects at Comic Con, establishing their cinematic universe as a true rival to Marvel's over the next four years.

Obviously, Warner Bros. has their own panel, there's a whole night of DC Entertainment hosted by Oliver Queen himself and there's the Batman 75th anniversary panel, any one of which could host these announcements, a surprise appearance or even footage if Warners wanted it to. The question is whether that will actually happen, and just how much fans will be upset if they set themselves up for potential disappointment.

Says Slashfilm, "An early glimpse at the Warner Bros. Hall H panel taking place Saturday July 26 has been revealed. Peter Jackson will present The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, George Miller will bring Mad Max: Fury Road, and the Wachowskis will bring Jupiter Ascending. However, there is no mention of Batman v Superman or anything DC Comics related. Does that mean it won't be there? No, it could be a surprise, but it's not a good sign."
