The nominations for this year's Emmy Awards were announced earlier today, and AMC's The Walking Dead has received two nominations.

The Walking Dead is nominated in the category of Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series for the episode "Too Far Gone." In this category, they're up against Black Sails, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, and Game of Thrones.

The Walking Dead is also nominated for Outstanding Special and Visual Effects in a Supporting Role, for the episode "30 Days without an Accident." In this category they are competing with Black Sails, Da Vinci's Demons, Hawaii Five-0, Mob City, and Vikings.

Previously, The Walking Dead has been nominated for a total of six Primetime Emmys and has won twice, but was not nominated last year.

The Walking Dead recently began filming its fifth season, which will air in the fall on AMC.
