Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes After The Credits Spoiler

Spoiler Warning: This article contains information on what happens after the credits in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, so if you don’t want to know, then stop reading now. However, if you want to find out if there is a stinger after or during the credits, then keep reading.

Thanks in large parts to Marvel Studios, more people are watching movie credits than ever before. Because of the success Marvel has had with after the credits scenes in their various Avengers franchise movies, people have come to expect that any franchise movie might include something extra after the credits.

In regards to if Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has a stinger after the credits, the question is somewhat up for debate. There is not what one would probably label a traditional after the credits scene in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, but there is something. After the credits finish, there is some muffled audio of ape sounds, possibly an ape shifting through rubble and gasping for air.

Of course, the audio could mean nothing or it could be very significant. If you want to know why it could be significant, then check the spoiler text below that spoils a major event in the movie.

Near the end of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Caesar lets Koba fall to his death. The sounds of an ape gasping for air and moving rubble could be an indication that Koba actually survived the fall.

  1. I assume it's the soldiers on the radio, ape-soldiers.

  2. Marvel may have laid claim to the post film credits "serial", but 28 Days Later really did it right.  I remember, being the only one in a theater, where even the movie attendants who had seen the credits roll before, were surprised.

  3. Any Given Sunday did it best

  4. Actually Masters of the Universe is the first one I know of with a post credit scene.

Marvel's post credits scenes have really gone downhill. I mean in THOR TDW all it was was thor coming back to kiss natalie portman? And then as if to say "wait we got something quirky and funny cause we're marvel" they chuck in that extra scene with the alien rampaging. Lame much?
